Netflix "Instant View" Described As A Peanuts Cartoon....

… with apologies to the late Charles Schultz.

Quasi as Charlie Brown
Netlflix as Lucy
The movie “Silent Running” as the football

So I put this in my instant view queue, go to my XBox360 to watch it only to find out it’s been placed on the “DvD ONLY” list, meaning they have to mail it to me. All this in a matter of about one minute, and “Silent Running” isn’t even a current movie.

Pretty much ALL 3 of the DvD rental companies have a suck factor of some kind, but Netflix just continues to find ways to piss off their customers.

Thanks

Quasi

I won’t stick up for NetFlix too much, because they’ve definitely made some mistakes over the past year… but, to be fair to them, if it was up to them, they would offer EVERY movie via streaming. It’s a business model that just makes more sense for them. If a film isn’t available over streaming, it’s because the studio/production company won’t license it for that, not by NetFlix’s choice.

Then they must have made a mistake offering Silent Running as streaming and then when I couldn’t find it and went back and looked, it had been changed to mail only.

I know the first reaction from you (my friends) is to say, “Well, couldn’t you have made the mistake, Q !?”

Any other time, I’d say, “Yeah, probably”, but you do have to follow a couple of steps in order to watch a movie instantly, and I did those.

Their response to my message was pretty much what you explained above, Anamorphic.

Thanks

I remember having that movie in my Instant queue, so it probably just expired today. They lease a movie for only so long, and you just happened to have really bad timing.

http://instantwatcher.com/ is a great site to have bookmarked. You can find out what’s playing on instant currently, what’s about to expire, and what’s coming soon to instant. It’s a great resource!
