Neuroleptic

What is the most effective neuroleptic for schizophrenia ?

There’s no simple answer to that question. The most effective one is whichever one relieves the patient’s symptoms adequately with the fewest side effects that the patient is also willing/able to take as directed. Lots of various effective meds fail to meet those particular qualifications for individual patients.

Nothing more to add except +whichever one the insurance pay for or will authorize or is in their formulary. If the person is self-pay then it might need to be one of the older first or second generation anti-psychotics. An insurance company may require trying and failing with one or two first gen anti-psychotics before they will pay for a newer second generation one.
