Been out with quite a few girls over my lifetime, but never with one who had the moxie (or bad judgment ;)) to ask me first.

My first date with SeptemberDay comes to mind. We met via Yahoo! Personals, back when that was still an unusual thing. She placed the ad and I responded to it. A week later we met at a park near her house. She took the initiative, both with the ad as well as suggesting the date, so I think it definitely falls under the spirit of the statement.
I’ve been asked to a sorority date function, so I guess that counts.

If by date you’re describing just two people, usually a man and a woman (but could be same sex as well, depending on preference), with a mutual liking or hopeful interest in one another.
