Mind expansion is a curious thing. But so is survival. If I can read books, then I can attain knowledge. And maybe I can even apply it in my day-in day-out affairs. However if I can get college credit for it, I win. But that’s not really my gameplan. What I really need are links to online courses, like statistic, computer stuff, programming concepts, foreign languages, how to draw, etc, by which I can really better myself. Anybody out there that can provide some links for me? It would be much appreciated by me and others I’m sure.

There are on-line engineering courses at http://www.techonline.com/ - only found it yesterday so I haven’t looked into it much, but it looks very good. There are a number of programming tutorials online. A good Java tutorial is on the Sun web page at http://www.javasoft.com/ . I’d like to hear about resources in other fields as well though.
Still, for many subjects, I find that sitting down with a good textbook beats any on-line resource. If you’re investing a lot of time in learning the subject, why not invest a bit of money as well?
People who invest serious time and effort in putting down what they know for the benefit of others usually expect to be paid.
The really good information is in the textbooks. If you want free access, you can try your local library, especially if you’re in a major metropolitan area.
