Happened to stumble on a “Christine” re-run, evidently her son had the “mission” assignment. Reminded of the epic thread we had about it awhile back.

We had a huge brouhaha about parents “doing” kid’s homework, and one such assignment that could lead to this was an assignment (in CA) to build a model “mission” like early settlers of the area built.
Why would early settlers build model missions?
It’s been part of the curriculum for that long. Of course, those early settlers didn’t bother doing it until the Spanish came along and assigned it as homework.
