While this is not a question per se I think the topic addressed re new search engine technology would help more people here than any other forum. There is a new search engine called “Profusion” that is different han any other web search engine in that it searches inside online databases (ie the invisible internet) vs mainly web pages for other engines. In a few test runs it gives me lot of information that google does not.
I’ve got to try Profusion, but I have found something better than Google http://ilor.com actually uses Google and improves on the formatting for better results. It solves most of the tiresome back and forth chores of actually wading through a batch of Google output.
I don’t rate Profusion; it actually gave me fewer results than Google for some very specific searches. And don’t get me started on ILor; it’s a pointlessly fancy front-end for Google, which is fine as is. Nice if you’re really bothered, but I’m not.
