As you may know, Dylan will release the double album “Rough And Rowdy Ways” next Friday, his first studio album with original songs since 2012. He hadn’t given an interview since being awarded the Nobel prize in 2016, and in thisnew interview in the New York Times, he’s more open than I ever remember him. He’s usually very cryptic when talking about his creative process, but talks suprisingly frank about it this time. And would he have allowed or even answered questions like this in the past???
Q: “What Eagles songs do you enjoy the most?”
“New Kid in Town,” “Life in the Fast Lane,” “Pretty Maids All in a Row.” That could be one of the best songs ever.
Q: “Just as a lark, which Stones songs do you wish you could’ve written?”
Oh, I don’t know, maybe “Angie,” “Ventilator Blues” and what else, let me see. Oh yeah, “Wild Horses.”
He also takes a clear stand in the case of the George Floyd murder (the interview was made the day after the incident):
A good read that makes me look forward to the new album.
