It’s very Murakami. If you have liked or loved his other stuff you will like this. There is a certain creepiness about this one that I can’t quite put my finger on…every scene has a boding feeling that permeates the entire novel. It’s kind of in the middle of Wild Sheep Chase and Hard Boiled Wonderland.
There was a sidebar about Checkov that went on way too long early in the first book.
It felt a bit like the “Conway Twitty” breaks a few seasons ago in Family Guy.
Otherwise, truly engrossing and entertaining.
