I’d rather party like it’s 1699 rather than spend $1500 and probably at least three months of software incompatibility hassles with a new computer.

Are you looking to do some hardcore gaming or something? I bought a gaming desktop with a very powerful graphucs card, prebuilt, for $1100 a few months ago. I got help picking it on this board. $1500 would get you a very powerful gaming PC that can handle the latest releases on Ultra graphics settings.

I assume that’s not what you’re looking for, so $150-200 would be more than sufficient.

Yeah, that’s something I would feel much better about. It’s pretty decent in and of itself, plus it’s an am5 chip meaning it can actually be upgraded in a meaningful way several years from now. Even if they introduce am6 more quickly than expected, there is always the option to upgrade it to the 7800X3D, which is an actual upgrade that could be considered worth doing. I’m not sure upgrading 13400 to a 14700 down the road would be worth the money. Well then, I’ll probably see about getting th…
