THANK YOU, ZipperJJ!!!
you’re welcome
It must just be me but I push the control button not f8 to get to safe mode… I never get any keyboard messages that way.
Its kind of tricky to get it right, you only have a 3-4 second window to hit it. Too early and the BIOS reports the keyboard is missing, too late and windows has already started. I start hitting it immediately after I hear the computer beep once and that normally does the trick.
Question – why wouldn’t the computer have automatically reverted the display to its previous settings when you failed to click the button that says “Yeah, the new settings look good” – ??
““Yeah, the new settings look good” – ??”
Who knows, another computer mystery.
Also, the OP didn’t say what monitor they have & as you know some monitors have buttons on them that let you select screen resolution before turning on zee computer.
It’s a Dell 17" M782 monitor, if that tells you anything. There doesn’t seem to be any buttons to set resolution.
As to AHunter3’s question, they did look good, so I clicked the okay button. That was when it went kerblooie.
All is well now, however…now, if only I could figure where that ominous music is coming from…
Thanks for giving me the model number, now others who want to look at the instructions for it can find them at:
