So I was in the local Family Dollar today, and I heard an extremely loud guy was asking one of the associates if she’d seen the inauguration. As she was talking in a normal tone of voice I could not hear her reply. His next words were something like it was a joke or something, and that Hillary and Pence (whose name he struggled with) were wearing masks. I, again, couldn’t hear her reply, but from context I believe she asked if he meant like a medical mask for Covid, or other germ prevention. Now I didn’t catch everything he said next, but he did say, “No … isn’t that weird?” And this time I heard her say, “Yeah, that’s really weird.”
My question is: what the hell was this guy saying? I took him to be saying that Clinton was wearing a Clinton mask and Pence was wearng a Pence mask. I won’t even ask why he’d think this, as I’ve given up wondering why people think these sorts of things. I guess I wonder if anyone has a diifferent interpretation of the incomplete conversation, or if anyone has heard anything like this peculiar theory.
I saw the footage of the Episcopal bishop’s sermon, the one where Tiffany was sitting behind him, and SHE definitely looked like a mannequin throughout, even more so than anyone else.
I noticed long ago that the entire trump clan look like they’re made of plastic. It really stood out in comparrison to the Bidens and Harrises’ family.
Whenever I hear a MAGAt talk about anyone wearing a mask, I assume they are referring to surgical masks, like were worn with Covid. Their theory, as near as I can tell, is that anybody wearing a mask, for whatever reason, is an idiot because it it just means you are giving up your freedom for nothing. Having politicians wear masks is even worse because it is a signal to encourage everyone else to surrender all freedoms (or something like that).
Now, I did not watch the Trump’s inauguration (either one), so I do not know if either Hillary or Pence were wearing masks. I doubt either did. But, the rumor that they were is that kind of thing that runs rampant in Right Wing Social Media (RWSM). While I don’t know the “extremely loud guy”(ELG) the OP heard in FD was a MAGAt, I suspect he was, since they are typically the ones that feel everybody else needs to believe whatever BS they have heard last.
So, my best guess is that ELG saw some photos on RWSM of Hillary and Pence from Biden’s Inauguration. Of course, I’d imagine everyone there (Jan 2021) would have been masked. Not being a high information type, ELG simply assumed that since he believed Hillary and Pence were idiots, they obviously would be wearing masks.
IIRC @scudsucker lives in Zimbabwe. Or at least grew up there; might now be living in South Africa.
In any case it’s a good bet that regardless of his personal economic circumstances within his country, his acquaintance with cheap goods piled high in unkempt circumstances far exceeds our own.
Aren’t Clinton and Pence (now that he’s fallen out of favor with Trump and MAGA) really lizard people? Of course they’re masked.
My other thought is that the elites now have invisible masks to protect themselves from the new, upcoming China virus that is engineered to kill white people. (Yes, a Chinese virus designed to kill white people is something I heard a MAGA talking about a few days ago.)

I don’t get to vote for your orange idiot (nor against him) but having seen some chaos in Subsarahan Africa, especially in my own country, Zimbabwe, I have some strong opinions about dictatorships.

Trever Noah several years ago had segment on the Daily Show about how Trump is actually America’s first “African” president… every time Trump opens his mouth; I’m reminded of Idi Amin, Mugabe or Qaddafi.
