How does that justify this incredible failure to defeat Hamas, which has killed so many tens of thousands of civilians while empowering no one but extremists? Yes, this pathetic failure of a war is illegitimate. Why would you defend such a miserable failure? That the 9/11 attacks happened didn’t justify the miserable failure of the Iraq war.
I have a solution to the problem of raping prisoners and mass murder of civilians - they should stop doing that.

Hamas should stop doing that. Probably about as likely as the IDF stopping raping prisoners or settlers stopping terrorizing and brutalizing Palestinian families and similar.

I wouldn’t be averse to an organization with a shred of decency trying to specifically combat Hamas violence, but the IDF is clearly incapable of that. Trying to get the IDF to dismantle Hamas would be like having Hamas dismantle the settlements.
Or Trump/Hegseth managing a war, for that matter.

Maybe UN peacekeepers? As long as they are similarly charged with dismantling settlements, IDF gulags, and similar.
And when Hamas uses schools and hospitals as staging areas to attack those UN forces and sends child soldiers with rifles to ambush them, what should they do about it?

I’ve never claimed to have a solution to everything. Just that raping prisoners is bad, empowering settler terrorism is bad, warmongering is bad, helping Hamas is bad, mass murder of civilians is bad, imprisoning and brutalizing doctors without charge is bad, etc. All things the Israeli government and IDF have done and are still doing.
One might presume that these are not controversial opinions.
Eh, I think that some highly-publicized courts martial for soldiers participating in rape and murder would change things somewhat, especially if they get the death penalty. Illegal settlements sounds like a Border Police issue.
I’m saying that you have a lot to say about what Israel shouldn’t be doing and nothing to say about what they, or anyone else, SHOULD do about terrorists who hide behind human shields, use schools and hospitals as staging areas, and conscript children to fight for them.
So what should they do, in your opinion? Keep raping prisoners? Keep killing civilians? Keep imprisoning people without charge? Keep supporting settler terrorists? Keep making Hamas stronger? I don’t have the answers, but maybe you do?
I honestly think that there was a time and a place for Israel to ally itself with Iran, but that looks more distant than ever.
