D’oh - beaten by Smeghead!

…actually, beaten by me five days ago!
From the new trailer, a couple of observations from others:
People have spotted Tennants Tardis is spotted in the trailer (I can’t tell the difference!): are they going to show why the Tardis blew up in the Eleventh Hour?
River is seen in the “fake Tardis” from The Lodger
Crap. I see so much content these days on so many different sites that I can never remember what I saw where. My bad.
Very very cool! Was that Christopher Lee’s voice saying “Fear me”?
Wow, that looks amazing!
Regardless of whose voice it was, the Doctor’s response was pitch-perfect.

Fear Me. I’ve killed them all.

Not bragging, not really even overtly threatening. Just a statement of fact, which fact just happens to be scary as hell.
Yes, there’s no braggadocio in it at all. He doesn’t really want to be the guy who killed them all. But he is.
Re the accent thing, forget Kevin Costner. I think we’re still paying off our debt for Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. And we will be, for all time.
…no worries mate! I just had a laugh because you had already commented on the prequel in this thread, and I had to watch your link to make sure I hadn’t seen it myself!

The Doctor has now officially become my favourite character of all time. And as for Matt Smith…
Peter Davidson used to be my favourite Doctor. He was my first, he loved cricket, he wore celery, he was cool. Then Eccleston came along and all of a sudden I had a new favourite Doctor. I was heart broken when he left, and didn’t think Tennant would be up to the job, but I was wrong. I loved the Tennant run, I thought he had a fantastic take on the Doctor, and even though a few of the episodes weren’t the strongest I quickly became one of his biggest fans.
But Matt Smith? Wow. I remember seeing early interviews with Moffat and co talking about Matt Smith’s auditions and how incredible they were, and how they knew they had their Doctor when he walked out of the room. And I remember outcry that he was too young for the part. And I remember my jaw hitting the floor and the constant smile on my face as I watched the Eleventh Hour for the first time.
Matt Smith is my favourite Doctor. The last season of Doctor Who was my favourite of all time. The Big Bang is quite possibly my favourite hour of television. I have absolutely no idea what Moffat has in store for us this year, but I suspect that we are going to be jumping back into episodes that we’ve already seen and we are going to be smacking our foreheads quite often going “I should have seen that coming!!!” The Impossible Astronaut cannot come quickly enough, I can’t wait to see the triumph of intellect and romance over brute force and cynicism!
