The article doesn’t say anything about this guy being a Tea Partier. He ran against Obamacare, but every Republican did that.
Nevah mine.
My sister, the rabid republican, told me this just last night. I couldn’t believe my ears. She looked me in the eye and said that I had no idea how often she agreed with me when I railed against hypocritical elected officials. Knowing her, I have to look forward to the next time I hear one of retired military buddies speak scornfully against my ideas.
I would ask this Tea Bagger why he thinks the Govenrment shoud provide health insurannce at all to its employees?
Nor have I, nor do I know anyone. The closest I have seen is the “next full pay period”, (for a freinds co) which means 2-3 weeks.
I’ve had benefits start right away, but only once.
Yes, I can’t possibly see how that would make it hypocritical for him to oppose coverage for people who need regular doctor visits or medication, where a gap in coverage will cause them difficulties.
Oh wait.
No, no, geese are fuel-injected.
For the foie gras.
Exactly. You want to know what you do without 28 days of health care? That’s easy, you take what people who go without health care for ten years have been doing and divide it by 120.
He could just not get sick.

As someone else remarked upthread, I’ve never had a job where the healthcare kicked in immediately. At minimum, it was always on the first of the following month. His argument is a lie: he knows it and so say all of us.
If he believes his employer’s health care selection to be insufficient for his needs, he always has the option of purchasing insurance on his own through the free market.
Or he could embrace the free market (cue sound of angels) and get a better job.

That’s one of the virtues of being uninsured. It encourages people to not get any diseases and not have any accidents. But do the Republicans get any credit for this?
Typical liberals. Always saying “If he gets it, I should get it”, completely ignoring the crucial difference that he earns it by working and you don’t. So he wants government-run healthcare for himself but not for you. He deserves it and you don’t. Where’s the hypocrisy?
It’s almost as bad as when someone on this board asked me “Well if you’re fine with collecting the GI bill, why don’t you support welfare? Hypocrite!” I mean, WTF?!?!
He hasn’t earned it! He’s expecting it to be free because he’s attained a certain elite status. Let him spend the money he’s earned on health care.
It’s one thing to kill poor people, but it’s another thing to act like people who work for certain employes are more deserving of health care than people who work just as hard for other employers.
None. Just as long as you acknowledge all those teachers, administrators, and other government employees deserve every last dollar of all their income and perks as much as this guy does. ![]()
Typical conservative. Always saying “As long as I got mine, why should I care if anyone else has anything?” completely ignoring the crucial fact that he needed the help of other people to get what he’s got. So he wants government-run healthcare for himself and not for you. He’s looking out for himself and not you. There’s the hypocrisy.
The hypocrisy is in the fact that he fears the conseqences of going even 30 days without health care coverage, but would happily make it harder for other people to get similar coverage even if they have to pay for it. Or does he plan to repeal the health care bill and replace it with another law that will protect people with pre-existing conditions, changing jobs, etc.?
Not that there is anything wrong with that. Being shocked that is. And gay. Unless you are a Republican.
But there is something wrong if you’re a gay male and do the shocker. Riddle me THAT!
So you’re on record that everyone with a job, or about to begin a job, has earned health insurance.
