I upgraded and now if I have several pages open and I try to close one it asks “close all tabs?” The reponse is either yes, close all tabs, or cancel. There is no “NO, ONLY CLOSE ONE FUCKING TAB.”
How can I get this to stop asking if I want all tabs closed???
Wow, so rarely do we get GQ’s that can be answered so thoroughly and succintly in such a short time. Usually the answer is “It’s complicated and depends” and/or “check your jursidiction”.
That’s exactly the problem I was just having – except that no matter what I did, it would close all the tabs. Hell with it; I just uninstalled IE 7 and went back to the previous version, which works just fine. Cute idea with the tabs, but not really necessary.
In my Firefox I move my tabs to the bottom of the browser (this seems to be an uncommon choice) and have a single close button to the right affecting just the focussed tab. I find that to be a good way to not accidentally go to click the wrong ‘close’ at a thoughtless moment.
IE7 does not currently give me similar choices. As usual.
I don’t use the tab close button at all, I just middle-click the tab itself with my mouse, which in Firefox closes the tab. Does IE7 do anything similarly?
Hey, a computer question even I can answer… Yes middle clicking on a tab closes just that tab. I have noticed that IE7 is a little slower that IE6,and don’t get me started on the new media player, WMP 11.
