New kitties in da house! Pictures, too!

In this thread you gave me the advice to get a kitty. So I did. Actually, I got two.

They are called Cookie Cat and Paulinsche and are the cutest kittens in the whole world: Evidence!

Thank you for the good advice!

They’re just darling. There’s nothing like watching a couple of kittens at play. Congratulations!

They’re such a gorgeous pair, I hope you have hours of fun playing with them!

Ooooohhh!!! What little sweeties they are! Have you introduce them to the joys of a wad of paper tied to a string and pulled along the floor? Cheap toy and they never get tired of it!

Too cute!! We’ve added a baby Siamese to our household a couple of weeks ago. 3 cats, 1 dog – life is good.
Enjoy, and bless you for being an animal lover. There’s not a lot of innocence and blind trust left in the world, except that found in animals.

Actually, currently their favourite is chasing The Little Red Ball. Then they’ll stop and fall asleep on the spot. In between they’ll eat. Ah, the joys of kittendom…

No way! My kitty’s called [http://www.crowaptok.com/images/cookie.jpg]Cookie too!

And when she was that age, she looked just like your Cookie Cat (except your Cookie has prettier eyes, but don’t tell her I said that…). Paulinsche is gorgeous too.

Congratulations - they’re beautiful. I guarantee these two will be a source of total joy for many years to come.

Damn, fouled up the code.

Anyway, if you’re lucky, they’ll play fetch with little balls of paper. Enjoy this while you can, because cats tend to stop doing this after they’re about 12 months old.

Now turn the lights off please, I’m trying to sleep.

Those are so cute…I wish we had pictures of our cat Archie from the sixties. He was such a tiny thing when we got him. He was fluffy, and black, with a white lower jaw, a white crest on his chest, a white belly, and white feet–like the Cintons’ cat Socks. My younger brother Steve was a toddler then. He loved to run up and down the stairs dragging a long string of plastic beads, with Archie the kitten chasing the end of the string. That would have been a great picture…

Awwwwwwwww! ::melts::

Kitties are sooo cute. If my Dad weren’t so allergic, we’d have several. As it is, we have two dogs, a chinchilla and some goldfish. Someday, when I have a house of my own, I will have cats. I take every opportunity to pet and play with other people’s cats

Do your kitties like catnip, or do you not know yet?

Awww, garsh, they shur are cute! :stuck_out_tongue:

Awwww. They are so adorable. I’ve asked my vet to keep a look out for any dumped kitties he comes across. I can’t wait to get a few more kitties that are as cute and playful as yours.

Kittens! Awww! Aren’t they sweet?

[hijack] Speaking of kittens, if anybody is thinking about getting one (or six or eight) it’s kitten season. The little rescue group I work with has (as of Thursday when I last heard) 56 kittens. And there’s more on the way, it’s not even June yet.

This DOES mean I get a great kitten fix when I go to clean cages and fill water bowls and whatnot, but these babies need homes. THEY’RE all fixed. [end hijack]

Whiterabbit, that was a good hijack. As usual, I’m on the lookout to save a few kittens…they regularly get dumped at my vet’s practice so I’ll adopt them from there. I try to do my bit, and I’m pleased to read you’re of the same mind set and the kittens have been fixed before they go to new homes.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! I love little kitties and yours are so cute together. GOOD LUCK, they are lucky to have you!!

I’m getting one - but it will be late June/early July before I do. Unless the kitten that one of my friends brought back from her parents’ house for another friend ends up needing a home (he is adorable, and I’d take him in a second), I’ll be getting a shelter cat. The friend who has the kitten now can’t keep it - her housing situation doesn’t permit it. It’s staying with her for the moment, but she knows that if there’s any problem, she can bring it up here and I’ll take care of it.
Other than that, my ideal is a shelter cat or kitten (depends on who decides I’m its parent) - fixed, initial shots.

Your kitties are adorable, Einmon!

I LOVE kitties.

They are so adorable. You will get tons of joy and laughter from them. I know mine make me smile every time I come home.

Congrats!

Oooh, I used to have a chinchilla, too… (Bonnie, may he rest in peace) he was the cutest thing around, too!

I feel your pain, my ex-roommate was also allergic, so we couldn’t have any, but as soon as she moved out we adopted the kitties.

I don’t know if they like catnip, I tried sprinkling some onto their scratching post, because they don’t seem to like it, but they still don’t seem to like it. They like to play with my palm tree instead

IIRC cats don’t react to catnip until they approach sexual maturity, and some never react to it at all.

A word of warning: kittens will attack anything that moves. For some reason, most of ours were particularly fond of attacking things that moved under blankets at night.

Ooops…it was June yesterday. Oh well. That’s what happens when I quit paying attention!

Kittens are great fun, as long as you know what you’re getting in for. The same goes for puppies. Adult animals need people too, but there’s so many kittens right now it’s insane. I wish I could take a couple myself.

Have fun with the kitties!
