We have an addition to the household. We lost two of our cats this year and the last cat has been moping.
So to liven things up, we went to the local rescue group. MeetKatie.
She was listed on Petfinder as a dilute calico but I think she’s a dilute torbie.
We don’t know why she was at the shelter but she’s spayed, all shots and solid as a rock.
The first couple of hours, she hid and crept around but quickly figured out there was much attention to be had and room to play. While not as talkative as a Siamese, she does like to discuss how the day is going.
Only problem is a bit of hissing towards the Established Cat but no real aggression or signs of wanting to fight. Even that’s settling down some and it’s been less than 24 hours.
She looks a bit like my dilute calico, Feather. Feather is also a bit chatty, but not like a Siamese. We have nice conversations sometimes, usually about why I’m not lying or sitting in the perfect position for her to lie on top of me.
By the way, Feather was just woken up by me getting the camera - she isn’t a blind kitty.
Cute! AIUI, the coat is calico if there are any white patches, otherwise, she sure looks like a dilute tortie to me! Congratulations on your new friend!
Pretty kitties all! Congrats on your new owner, she looks in good health.
And that’s not at all a terrifying number of videotapes in your library there.*
Have you noticed yet if your new kitty is a terrible shedder? Feather sheds more than any cat I’ve ever seen. She’s also a very mild, gentle kitty - a very nice kitty. I hope yours is the same.
ETA: I forgot to compliment Katie on how pretty she is.
What a cutie!! I’m going to adopt* three cats in less than a week and one is a very vocal tortie. I’ve never lived with a tortie before, but I love her personality so far.
*I’m moving in with their mom, but I get to pretend they’re mine.
