New Lady Gaga Song "Judas"

I sure as hell can’t figure it out. I think that may be the point.

I read on swrv’s twitter that they’re giving away an ipod with all her albums, and her heartbeat headphones this weekend. I didn’t know she had her own headphones.
Next thing you know she’ll have her own farmville game…

It reminds me of some cheesy song you would hear on a Christian music station, with “Judas” obviously being replaced with “Jesus”. I don’t know how to describe it; just not very professional (?) I guess.

I am a Lady Gaga fan for the most part but I think she’s in danger of trying too hard and overexposure.

What are people thinking of Edge of Glory? I’m liking it a lot. It’s got a good beat and fun lyrics.

Meh. It’s getting repetitive now. I like her voice better than Madonnas at least.

Just in case anyone wanted her discography:

Anyone see her on SNL?

Yes. I like her, but I thought that was pretty awful.

I actually liked her latest song, and have been waiting to see how long it took before there was a thread on it. I had a feeling that, if I liked the song, it would have to not be as popular.

My wife loves this song… it’s on a permanent loop in our kitchen.

I’ve been spending more time in the garden as a result, but it is kinda catchy.

Anyone listened to the new album? I’ve only gone through it once. I really enjoyed Electric Chapel and a few others but a lot of them just kind of passed me by. (That happens to me a lot with most music though. It takes a few listens for me to decide how I feel about any given song.)

How is this song Judas not just a re-hash of Bad Romance? Same stuttery call-out intro, throbbing disco beat with assertive vocals on the verses, phasing into the big sing-song chorus?

0 for 2, since Born this Way is a re-hash of Madge’s Express Yourself.

She’s coasting on the music front; no clue on the splash she’s making with costumes and showmanship this time around.

and smiling bandit, regarding Madonna as an artist and an influence, if you think about the fact that Gaga is the hugest thing going and is clearly trying to position herself as the heir to Madonna - wouldn’t that explicitly contradict your dismissal of Madonna as an influence?

I too liked Electric Chapel, and You and I, for some reason. Need to go through the album a few more times to make up my mind.

I have to say I’m not too hot on Hair or Edge of Glory though.
