New Member Problem

All this happened tonight:

  1. I registered today
  2. I verified my email
  3. I posted with no problem
  4. I paid for membership, expiring a year from today
  5. I was given member privileges which I tried out (ie. viewing profiles, etc.)
  6. I changed my email address
  7. I verified my email address
  8. my status reverted to Guest, I lost my privileges
  9. now when I post I get a nag “Your guest membership on the Straight Dope Message Board expires on October 25, 2005”
  10. my paid membership does show up in my User CP
  11. I’ve cleared my browser cache, logged out, logged in, problems still there

Any idea what’s going on? Thanks for any help.

Hi brightpenny, I see that you are showing up in the paid member category.

I’m not sure what the problem is, but I’ll ask the admins to look into this.

Hi brightpenny,

I don’t know exactly what happened but I suspect something went awry with the email address change after you registered. You should now be a Member. Let us know if you have still having problems.
