Meh. Trampling the constitution in the cause of justice has been a staple of movies since Dirty Harry and television since T.J. Hooker, if not earlier.
A local police chief once said on TV that an unbelievable amount of suspects will demand their fourth amendment rights are being violated due to these TV shows influencing them. He said his officers calmly tell them you have no fourth amendment rights because YOU’RE NOT IN THE USA!
So I think some people are unclear on the difference between reality and fiction.
