Here in Australia we got premiere episodes of two new quiz shows, 1 v 100 and The Rich List.
The Rich List was OK, but 1v100 made me narky. The difficulty level of questions on the show was abysmally low.
The premise of the show is you have one contestant down the front and a panel of 100 people. Multiple Choice questions are asked and presuming the single contestant gets the answer right, he gets a certain amount of money for each of the “100” that gets it wrong. If you’re in the “100” and answer incorrectly you then sit out the rest of the game.
I watched for the first 20 mins or so but couldn’t stand it any longer after that. Completely apart from the fact it is hosted by an asshat (Eddie McGuire for those playing at home) the questions were so shockingly easy, I was ranting at the TV when members of the “100” got them wrong.
I kid you not, one of the questions was Which politician does not share a surname with a famous comedian? A) Brendan Abbott B) Julia Bishop C) Peter Costello
About 6 of the “100” got the wrong? WTF? :smack:
That was typical of the difficulty, from what I saw they didn’t get any harder than that.
I like Quiz shows, like Millionaire, Sale of the Century, and Jeopardy because they test the noodle, makes me think. But if this is the quality of quiz shows to come they must be pitched at the idiot demographic.
Well this has kind of turned into a rant
