New species of human evolving - Mayl branch off from Homo Sapiens

Death of Y may spawn new human species

Bump this thread in about 15 million years…

Stan Lee was right, the mutant invasion is upon us!

Hopefully they’ll have cool superpowers.

And see it locked by a mod for being a zombie in… oh, about 15 miliseconds.

Locked by a mutant mod.

Personally, I welcome our new mutant, cool-power-having Overlords.

As I understand it, the Y chromosome is being constantly replaced anyway. The X chromosomes evolve a means of suppressing it, more and more females are born, then a mutant Y appears that happens to be immune to whatever Y suppression technique has been evolved by the Xs. Since the male(s) bearing that mutation are the only ones who can breed with the “Y - proof” females, their version of the Y rapidly takes over the species. Then, some millenia later ( or more ) it happens all over again.

I assume it could happen that a “Y - less” male as mentioned in the article could do the same, but I expect the odds are low simply because there are so few of them. It seems more likely to me than some man with a Y will happen to have the right mutation first, due to sheer numbers.
