NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 1)

Ha! Thanks, running_coach; I needed a good guffaw.

Marco Rubio tried to honor the late John Lewis by showing a picture of him…however…

“It was an honor to know & be blessed with the opportunity to serve in Congress with John Lewis a genuine & historic American hero. May the Lord grant him eternal peace," Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., wrote on Twitter, attaching a picture of himself in a conversation with Cummings.

Obvious jokes are obvious…

Jeez, Marco, we know you’re dumb, you don’t have to keep proving it to us…

Senator Dan Sullivan did the exact same thing.

Ron DeSantis, when asked about John Lewis, said he didn’t have time to talk about him because he’s too busy concentrating on coronavirus.

:grinning:

I should put this in the quarrantime forum where it belongs, but TPTB say no politics in that forum. :poop:
“The Trump administration is trying to block billions of dollars for states to conduct testing and contact tracing in the upcoming coronavirus relief bill, people involved in the talks said Saturday.
The administration is also trying to block billions of dollars that GOP senators want to allocate for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and billions more for the Pentagon and State Department to address the pandemic at home and abroad, the people said.”

And also trying to block hospitals from sending data to CDC. And keeping CDC director from testifying before congress about opening schools.

Killing people to try to get re-elected.

He sure is making America great, huh? And now, a special “Fuck You” to all of the people that voted for Trump. And a hearty “Fuck You and Go To Hell you fucking moron” to all of the fucking morons who are going to do it again.

I wholeheartedly support and second bobot’s statement.

This forum  is a good place for snarky, political comments about CV:

As Yoda would say, “There is no try!” Trump has done it. Note the source of this article is WebMD, not some pinko/liberal news site:

WEDNESDAY, July 15, 2020 (HealthDay News) As 64,000 new U.S. coronavirus cases were reported Tuesday and states struggled to control the spread of the virus, the Trump Administration stripped the country’s leading public health agency of the ability to collect hospitalization data on COVID-19.

Instead of patient information going to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it will now be sent to a central database in Washington, The New York Times reported. The unprecedented move has alarmed health experts who fear the data will be politicized or withheld from the public, the newspaper said.

From now on, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will collect daily reports about cases, available beds and available ventilators, the Times reported.

But the HHS database is not open to the public, which could affect the work of researchers, modelers and health officials who rely on CDC data to make projections and crucial policy decisions, the Times reported.

“Historically, CDC has been the place where public health data has been sent, and this raises questions about not just access for researchers but access for reporters, access for the public to try to better understand what is happening with the outbreak,” Jen Kates, the director of global health and HIV policy with the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation, told the Times .

The sad part about democracy is that their votes are counted along with everybody else’s.

It looks very much like Trump Minions have finally figured out a way to reduce the number of cases in the USA that are visible to the public.

Rather than actually reducing the number of cases (which is hard!), they have settled on the tried and true totalitarian way of manipulating the data. Which is to say, burying the data so nobody can see it.

Then they will claim success. Just don’t look at the refrigerated trucks in hospital parking lots with bodies stacked up. I’m guessing that will be the next task - squads removing & transporting bodies to the mass graves being dug in remote locations.

They are so fucking stupid, they probably think this will work.

Along with their transparent efforts to fire up the riots again and get them on the front pages. I predict some unarmed protesters are going to be gunned down by homeland security next week. They need to provoke at a higher level to get this where they want it.

The COVID-dead will become America’s desaparecidos.

The government made no effort to identify or document the desaparecidos. By “disappearing” them and disposing of their bodies, the junta could in effect pretend they never existed. But the family members and friends of the disappeared knew they had existed. They knew about the “death flights” in which bodies were flung from airplanes into bodies of water. They heard rumors about detention centers where people were raped and tortured. And they searched desperately for traces of their loved ones.

Throw in the folks in Portland and you’ve got a win-win.

Maybe the idea is to kill enough protesters to be able to hide the Covid deaths among them.

“He didn’t die from repository failure from disease. No, it was tear gas and ‘excited delirium’ as we strangled him.”

That’s an easy one! Just paint pictures and logos on the sides of the trucks that say they contain produce, office supplies, pool cleaning equipment, HVAC shit-- piece of cake! And that will support the claim that The Economy is up and running-- win win!

Or a Cargill logo.

We can solve the beef shortages, too.

He can’t believe he’s arguing with who? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I’m amazed they didn’t hold up pics of Lawrence Fishbourne and Samuel L. Jackson…

Soylent green wasn’t a fiction, was it?

ACLU is suing the Trump Administration Over Use of Secret Police in Portland.

The American Civil Liberties Union Foundation of Oregon sued the Trump administration late Friday over its deployment of federal agents to Portland, where unidentified officials from the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Marshals Service have been detaining Black Lives Matter protesters without explanation and using indiscriminate force to crush demonstrations.
