I got an email this morning with the title “undang-undangindonesia.com/ UU Ketenagakerjaan - Lembaga Kerjasama Bipartit”. Inside it said “undang-undangindonesia.com/ UU Ketenagakerjaan - Lembaga Kerjasama Bipartit BAB VI - BAGIAN IV LEMBAGA KERJASAMA BIPARTIT Pasal 37

See the attachement” and had an attachment the same as the title with a “.txt.bat” suffix.
Does anyone know what this is? Is it a new virus? An old one? There’s no way I’m opening this file, and the e-mail is going right into the trash.
Probably just another variation of the Klez virus. The “.bat” extension makes it a batch file which would likely run as soon as you download it and begin wreaking havoc on your computer.
bat file is a short command line instruction. You should be able to safely copy it to your desktop and right click>edit and see what it contains without running it. It could be something like:
echo off
C:
cd
del c:\windows*.*
