Watch for the many, many times the supporting actors are required to slouch, lean, stand in the distance and/or walk about five behind the star…all in an effort to de-emphasize Tom Cruise’s short stature.

Yeah, notice at the end, on the flight deck, how they keep a distance between Cruise and Tim Robbins (Merlin, his RIO in the end battle), who’s nearly a foot taller.
You can do the same thing with Shane, where Alan Ladd is shot from funky angles to hide his diminutive stature, and there are very few two shots.
