New York /Paris time difference?

This must have been covered often in times past. Sorry for the repeat.

Does Paris, France shift to what the USA calls “Daylight Savings Time”? If so, when do they make that time adjustment? How far ahead of New York are their clocks set?

Do the French use a 24 hour clock or the am/pm system?

In France, you’ll much more often find time expressed on a 24-hour clock than with a.m. or p.m.

Don’t know about whether France uses a version of Daylight Saving Time (yes, not Savings — it’s saving daylight).

Generally there is a six-hour time gap between Paris and New York. When it is noon in Paris, it is only 6am in New York.

All EU countries switch to summer time on the last Sunday in March, and switch back again on the last Sunday in October. If this does not co-ordinate with the dates observed in the US, there will be short periods around these dates when the time difference is either five or seven hours, depending on who switches first.

Thank you both! The USA is a week behind in switching to Daylight Saving Time.

Walloon, all that extra sunlight we save burns up the crops in the South.
