Did you think these bottom-feeders couldn’t outdo their performance so far, with the bogus 12-death count and the “suspiciously running away from the blast while Ay-rab” story? Think again…
Man, I hope the lawyers pick their bones clean…

Was the picture being circulated by investigators or not? I can’t tell from the HuffPo.
The Headline at Gawker: Is the New York Post Edited by a Bigoted Drunk Who Fucks Pigs?
Ah well, I’m sure it’s all in good fun. Or perhaps not: “A teenager said he is scared to go outside after he was portrayed on the Internet and on the front page of the New York Post as connected to the deadly Boston Marathon bombings.” I gotta agree with that teen.
Oh, and let’s not forget the time The New York Post falsely accused that NY hotel maid of prostitution:

NY Post settles, subjects maid to confidentiality requirement:
I bet the New York Post also calls it “meth” too, don’t they?
**New York Post Sinks To New Low **
You know, you say that so much it’s lost all meaning.
Let’s take a look at the New York Post’s dissembling on the topic: We stand by our story. The image was emailed to law enforcement agencies yesterday afternoon seeking information about these men, as our story reported. We did not identify them as suspects. Get it? The image was emailed to law enforcement. That’s all they got. And of course, “We did not identify them as suspects” doesn’t quite match up with them plastering those pics on their front page.
Gawker: It does seem clear, based on the flow of images and facts through Internet and the media yesterday, that the New York Post found itself sewed to the far end of an informational Human Centipede—evidently beginning with a crowd photo published on Deadspin, passing through Reddit and 4chan and Reddit and Reddit, being passed on to the investigators actively working the Boston case, then trickling through gossip-mongering New York law-enforcement officials, till it flowed over Col Allan’s taste buds. Look I’m not saying that the New York Post is run by brainless weasels. I do not know that. I am not qualified to deliver medical opinions.
Well, it turns out they are not so innocent after all.
They’re basically admitting that this is about as good as their journalism gets.
What? The two guys shown on the front page of the Post are NOT the same two guys identified as suspects. They are entirely different people. The guys the Post had all over their front page are, indeed, innocent.
Unless you are referring to the Post as being not so innocent after all, in which case I probably agree with you.
Oops. My bad. You’re right of course. Too many similarities between the two. Including the white hat.
What I want to know is when will Congress take action and ban white hats?
If a few innocent people have to die so I can keep my white hat, I think that’s perfectly acceptable. NO BAN!!
You can have my white hat when you pry it off my cold, dead scalp!
Why, yes, it does fit a little tight. Why do you ask?
Cite?
I mean, what makes this a lower low than their previous lows? Wow, I bet the Post’s lawyers will be all over you with examples of even worse lows.
Friend, you just made my day with that post. I haven’t laughed that long in ages!
I’m not sure how many of you are new yorkers and read the post on a regular basis but the general consensus locally at least is that the Post is about one step up (or maybe half-step, I’ll need to recheck my figures) from the National Enquirer. Anyone who reads that paper for anything other than entertainment value is an idiot. I love that newspaper but you need to take everything you read with about 12 grains of salt.
I will say - they have THE BEST HEADLINES. My favorite - Headless Body found in Topless Bar.
It’s the newspaper for people who like to read fast…or have to read slow.
The cover is one of the most irresponsible acts of journalism ever, and I hope Barhoun and Zaime sue the Post into oblivion.
That’s because so many of the critics don’t actually do any reporting of their own, such as aggregators like HuffPo or Gawker or self-appointed media critics like Jon Stewart or Rachel Maddow.
It’s easy to sit on one’s fat ass and wait for reporters to supply one with material (that one doesn’t pay for) and cluck when they get it wrong. Maybe in the future, we can all be aggregators and news commenters and perhaps reported news will just fall out of the sky, like manna from heaven.
Huh, I was going to pit my local TV news channel for doing the exact same thing (when I get out of this CE class). Wednesday evening they showed the same two men as the Post and said they were the suspects the FBI wanted to ID. This was 23 hours before the FBI actually released a photo, that with two different men. So when KPRC came on last night I expected them to apologize for their mistake and show the new one. Well, instead they said “here’s the picture again we first showed you last night at 6:00.”
They ran an incorrect picture, never apologized and then lied to cover their sorry asses. Yes, I absolutely have pictures of their initial broadcast and am contacting them to ask for an explanation.
