News from USA and 100mph "high speed" pursuits?

We’ve been over this before. It’s NOT the law in most places in the US. And howling into the ether about it won’t magically make it the law.

I suspect the OP has confused kph and mph, with that in mind, the speeds quoted make more sense. I’ve been driven on German autobahns and the driver chose to drive about 80mph/ 128 kph. 160 kph is 100 mph This makes the OP seem more reasonable. 100 is the fastest I’d want to drive for any length of time, on the best highway, with a good car. Conversely, a 100* kph* car chase is only 62.5 mph, which indeed doesn’t seem like much of ‘high-speed chase’

Only the OP can confirm or deny my supposition.

Exit left will be with us for a long time due to big interchanges. It would waste even more land to remove all left exits from interstate type roads.

On unrestricted divided streets and highway in cities, even with left turn specialty lanes, without building very expensive overhead crossing, there will be always be left exits on these kinda of major roads and streets. Some with 65 MPH speed limits.

If different than perfect German roads break your brain or make you less than able to drive safely, you don’t get out much and should not travel to different countries or places… ::: sheesh ::::

Interestingly, they are adding even more exits on the left, if you consider carpool lane exits. But perhaps that doesn’t count, since technically the carpool lane isn’t the fast lane.

But that does lead to interesting cases such as in the Bay Area, where the carpool lane becomes a regular lane, and hence the de facto fast lane when its not the rush hour. Then we really do have newly built left exits from the fast lanes, such as from 880 South to 237. Of course, there is still the regular exit from the right side of the freeway at the same location.

Not wanting to continue this hijack any further… where?

I don’t want to search all day, but this Pit thread seems to cover the “It’s the passing lane/It’s the fast lane” dichotomy pretty well.
