Next Wheel of Time book

End of tGH, Beth–when Mat calls all the Heroes. There’s a definite mention of a male and female set of twins, and somebody’s got to herald the new Age, right?

And at least you got through Liveship. I was so bored by the end of chapter one, I tried to slit my wrists with the cover. I’ll get around to Tawny Man sometime … but I’ll probably want to reread the Assassin books first, and I don’t know if I can handle that.

I’ll give credit where it’s due - that was a terrific scene. Not nearly as good as the climax of Book #2 (the high point of the series, IMHO), but still a kick-ass chapter, what with the wolves and the battle magic* and the huge-ass flag and the glaaavin . The problem with it is that it was preceded by 800 pages of absolutely nothing happening. For the first time in the series the payoff wasn’t worth the frustration.

Incidentaly, after reading the next book and found it identical except for the fact that Jordan forgot to include a kick-ass climax I gave up on the series.

*Yes, magic. Magic magic magic magic magic. Are you familiar with the word, Mr. Jordan?

Fitz is the saddest character ever. I’m reading the Tawny Man series mainly because I couldn’t bear to leave him where he was at the end of the Assasin’s trilogy. I digs me some Robin Hobb, even if it is rather… bleak (for the main character at least).

Though I know I’ll get back to the WoT soon enough, because once I start something, I need to know what happens, no matter how many dress descriptions I have to plow through.
