I was thinking of the week 2 thread, where Taber pointed it out in post 43 :
Interestingly, the Cowboys got in an often debated situation around here. They were down 15 and scored a touchdown with 5:00 left to go - they need another unanswered touchdown, and they need a 2 point conversion on one of the two touchdowns. The debate is whether to go for it now, or wait to go for it on the second touchdown. The argument for going for it now is that if you fail, you know you have to play for a miracle, as opposed to just losing if you go for it on the second TD and fail. That’s exactly what happened to the Cowboys, they failed to convert the 2 point conversion, but got the miracle onside kick recovery.
A direct refutation of my position. I mean, it still needed the “Step 2: A Miracle Occurs” of recovering an onside kick, but it did demonstrate an actual NFL team going for the 2 first.
