NFL 2022: Divisional Round

As a Chiefs fan, I’m glad that the Bengals won today, so the AFC championship game will be in Arrowhead next Sunday.

As a Chiefs fan, I’m scared to death of the Bengals. Notwithstanding the fact that Cincy has beaten KC three times in a row, the Bengals looked friggin’ great today. They manhandled a good Bills team on the road.

I am scared too, but if any team can Do it, its the Chiefs.

Thank you, TV gods, for sparing us from Troy Aikman and Joe Buck on tonight’s broadcast.

I decided I wanted to watch the game lounging at home instead of a bar and was late picking up food. When Buffalo elected to kick off I just shook my head. I couldn’t get home fast enough to see the 1st 2 touchdowns.

Maher misses another PAT. I imagine that Jones and McCarthy aren’t happy about choosing to stick with him.

What the heck is Shannahan doing letting time run off the clock instead of going for a FG?

It was blocked, but it had absolutely no chance of going through the uprights. Would have been a long ways to the left.

I guess he knew what he was doing, but he almost blew it.

I’ve hated the Cowboys my whole life, but even I was rooting for Maher to make that FG.

What’s a defender supposed to do when running with a receiver full speed and the guy suddenly stops right in front of him?

Isn’t this fairly standard over the last decade?

Oofa. Dak has looked mediocre all day, but a (luckily) dropped interception and a horribly off target deep pass to an open WR are the cherry on top.

I wonder what his sleep number will be tonight.

Well, whatever that last play was supposed to do, it failed rather miserably.

A really good win for the Niners. It certainly wasn’t easy.

yes but in the case of the Bengals they tend to charge hard out of the gate.

SOOOOO GLAD we get the Niners at The Linc this weekend. A rookie QB in a hostile environment in an NFC Champ game? Nice 19 total points and penalties.

31-17 EAGLES :eagle:. Easy peasy. Pash rush the kid to make him throw wide-outs. The picking will be good.

BUT… I’d really rather NOT play the Bengals. WTH? They waltzed into a Buffalo snowstorm and were ahead the whole time. With plenty of backup players on the OL. All business.

I saw it and thought, that’s stupid, they need a long shot bomb and there’s no protection. That formation ain’t gonna work.

They just threw a short pass that wasn’t even long enough for a first down. It might as well have been a run play.

wow did not expect cincy to take the bills …

Twitter speculation is that it was supposed to be lateraled back to Elliot (who was the center?) but he got pancaked right at the start of the play.

It was obviously going to be one of those wild and desperate lateral plays, so Frisco nipped it in the bud by immediately pancaking the initial receiver. They never let it get started.

I’d also like to add that Prescott performed exactly the way I expected him to perform because that is how he has always performed in big games. The two picks he threw colored the entire game. He should have thrown a third and fatal pick six, but the guy dropped it.

People were making such a big fuss over him because of their huge win against Tampa, but Tampa wasn’t even a real playoff team. Green Bay and definitely Detroit would have done a much better job in their stead.

Pretty happy to see the Bills out, since they are a divisional rival, but more importantly because I’ve got the Bengals picked to make the Super Bowl in the Early Picks contest  I can’t say I’m surprised at the loss, since they’ve looked a little shaky the last few weeks, particularly against the Dolphins featuring a no-name third string QB. That said, given the weather and home field advantage, I expected this game to be much closer.

Why have people not realized that Brock Purdy is not the typical rookie? He doesn’t get intimidated, ever.

Purdy and Hurts played against each other in college in 2019 and combined for eleven touchdowns between them. Iowa St scored 20 unanswered in the 4th but lost by one on a failed 2-point conversion.

I expect more defense this time around.
