NFL - PLAYOFFS - DIVISIONAL ROUND the World in 80 Days

I wanted the Vikings to make it a more interesting game, but they turned the ball over and didnt/couldnt adjust at halftime, so it was kinda a letdown. Still, it’s nice to see defense and a running game taking center stage.

I dont think that they were capable of adjusting because of their offensive injuries and a 49er D that really cant be adjusted against. Still enjoyed the game and the Vikes played their hearts out.

No disrespect to Lamar Jackson, but tonight is an example of why people are skeptical of relying on the running quarterback/pistol offense. It’s better to have a pass-first QB who can kill you with his legs than an athletic QB who doesn’t see the field.

Its deja vu all over again.

As a Steelers fan, this is such a fun game to watch. Lamar won me my fantasy league. No use for him any more.

Well, looks like my Ravens are headed out the back door after gaining the #1 seed and home advantage. That’s pretty disappointing, and I’ve got to say it was rather unexpected. Still, the Titans have been hot for the whole second half, they played great against the Patriots last week, and they’re beating Baltimore in almost every facet of the game tonight.

C’est la vie!

I think it would actually be pretty cool if Tennessee goes on to win the whole thing. I might also have to root for the Texans against the Chiefs tomorrow now, because it would be sort of cool to see the old Houston Oilers play the new Houston Texans for the AFC title.

Speaking of the Titans playing well…

There will probably be about 100 Monday Morning Quarterbacks in the media with similarly crappy hot takes over the next few days. They’ll all be saying that they just knew this offense wouldn’t work in the long run.

They’ve probably had the paragraph written since the Ravens started getting hot in the middle of the season. If the stumble came in Week 10, they would have published it then. If the stumble came next season after a Superbowl-winning campaign, they would have published it then, And when the stumble comes tonight against the Titans, well, they’ll be ready on Monday morning just like you were.

I guess it’s possible that this offense was a time-bomb waiting to explode, and that Jackson will now be just another run-of-the-mill QB. But if you think that tonight’s result is just a product of the offensive scheme, I submit that we probably haven’t been watching the same game.

LJs passing mechanics are horrible. His elbow drops too low and his balls have a tendency to sail. Keep that elbow perpendicular to your body bro.

Greg Roman is fascinating to me. With Lamar Jackson, and Colin Kaepernick before him, he’s been able to create offensive success on a season long level, but when it comes to playoff football, he struggles. Roman is clearly innovative and flexible enough to work with the players he’s given, but the inability to punch through in the playoffs is interesting.

Kudos to Mike Vrabel for having a gameplan to beat the Ravens. The Titans success this year is impressive.

Don’t get me wrong: the Titans have had a lot to do with the Ravens losing, but if you look at Lamar Jackson in the pocket, it’s been pretty bad. And this league is 100 years old now, and I think it’s been fairly well established that offenses that succeed are those with QBs who see the field, throw spirals, and make good plays. In all fairness to Jackson, the Ravens receivers have choked, too – maybe more the Jackson himself.

Roman’s pistol works at the college level – not so much in the NFL. Or not for long anyway.

Not a good day for the N.F.L. teams whose primary color is purple. Thank you, Tennessee Titans!

There are still two A.F.C. teams left that, if they win the whole thing, will cause the universe to explode (or something) by making it FOUR “major league” champions in one calendar year that are all first-time champs.

I’ve wondered how good L.J. really is at passing the ball. Just like the Chargers last year, the Titans made him look ordinary after he supposedly stewed all off-season after his off-kilter performance in the Ravens’ loss to L.A. D’oh!

No, KC did defeat the Vikings in the last AFL-NFL championship game fifty years ago, which was their last appearance in the big game. Tennessee was there 20 years ago, losing to the Rams by about half a yard on the final play.

By contrast, Seattle’s last appearance was 5 years ago, SF 7 years, GB 9. So, for the first time in 13 years (Bears v. Colts), the NFC will send a team to the SB that has been there more recently than the AFC team.

Oops, I forgot, the Seahawks repeated five years ago.

Hehe, Ravens lost. That makes this Colts fan very happy.

I think that racepug is referring to the Texans and Titans, neither of which has won a Super Bowl.

I don’t want to go to work tomorrow if KC loses today. Our kitchen manager is a die-hard Chiefs fan, and she’ll be in a pissy mood if they lose. From what I’ve observed, they have a good chance, but anybody can lose on any day.

It makes this old time Browns fan even happier.

Maryland teams like to tease you with a trial run first. I think they’ll win it all next year.

If I were a gambling man, I wonder what type of odds I could get right now…

I think Derrick Henry deserves huge respect for his recent play and the win yesterday. Much more than Lamar Jackson deserves disrespect for one bad game and the loss.
