The slo-mo on Odell Beckham’s catch on the 3 looked kind of questionable: after he stood up, he was holding the ball in one hand, with his fingers pointing downward, basically palming it near the end. On a damp day in Seattle, you just cannot hold a ball like that. I suspect the Giants of using some kind of glove dressing or other means of grip enhancement.

All Wide Receivers use a grip enhancement. Modern football gloves are far more effective than stickum ever was – the surface, whatever it’s made of, just creates a crazy amount of friction with the surface of a football. A demonstration.
In my opinion it’s kinda bullshit. Amazing, one-handed catches happen literally every week in the NFL. Plays that are commonplace today, if made 30 years ago, would’ve gotten a player onto the highlight reels for a decade or two. I don’t know why the NFL allows these gloves, except perhaps that they just want more offense.
ETA: Regarding Beckham specifically, I’m sure the ball was pretty dry. When it’s wet out they rotate the balls every couple of plays.

Did you see the kick Phil Dawson did to finish their game in OT? It sliced left then hooked right. I’m pretty sure he did that on purpose to foil any block attempts, cause he may be the greatest of all time kickers. I wish he was on the Browns for the fun this year.

No, I know he was this week. I’m saying that he’s made that kick before on the Browns, especially on short field goals, but he’s also made kicks on the Browns where he just had to aim way off to either side to compensate for the wind, so it’s not as clear if he’s doing a trick shot or not in a windy stadium.
