Is Garoppolo the real deal or were the 49er’s really that close to being competitive this year, or maybe a little bit of both? I know he can’t take credit for the three interceptions by Bortles today, but if your team is scoring, it’s got to be easier to stay hyped on the defensive side of the ball.

What Jimmy Garoppolo has been doing with a not-very-good 49ers team is nothing short of incredible. It’s downright exciting to watch football again. It’s a great Christmas present from Mr. No “L” I might have to call my doctor about NFL priapism.

IIRC, he had to fill in a bit for Brady during the suspension and did pretty well. He’s definitely not awful, and that’s a major upgrade for the Niners.
