I’m thinking he may get suspended for a game or two. The NFL sent a memo to all the coaches to lay off the replacement refs after last week’s debacle, and what he did was pretty much the opposite of that.
They were a robbed of a chance to send it to OT because of a bad call. Obviously it wasn’t a foregone conclusion that they would have scored the touchdown and it was probably even less likely that they would have won if it went to OT; the defense was gassed.
McCarthy isn’t helping an offensive line that is playing poorly.
ETA: Neither is Rodgers.
Jesus. Wife has ordered me off TV. Is this number on the NFL.com stattracker right? Eight sacks for Seattle?
Question on the MNF game.
About 3 minutes left in the first half. Rogers being pressured and doesn’t go laterally. He just steps back and spikes the ball. The Packers are called for offensive holding but no intentional grounding call. If there were the Seahawks would have chosen that one because it is spot-of-foul and loss of down.

Seems lime that’s a bit low.
The Packers offensive line is playing very poorly, Rodgers is skittish and holding the ball too long, and McCarthy’s playcalling isn’t helping in the least. So, yeah, 8 sacks.
Did Rogers piss off his whole O-line or something? It looks like The Longest Yard out there.
As long as the quarterback does not move from under center before spiking the ball, it doesn’t count as grounding. There will also be a TE or WR lined up tight enough to be within ten yards anyway.
There was a RB within a few yards of the play, IIRC. It was a screen play, and Rodgers threw it about 2 yards short of the RB.
He dropped back for a pass - it was not a spike to stop the clock. Also, I thought a spike behind the line of scrimmage nullified the 10 yard rule.
Then it may not have been a penalty but he clearly grounded it. Rogers is not so bad the he can’t throw a ball 5 yards and chucks it into the ground instead.
No, a receiver within 10 yards always negates grounding. Plus, there is an “imminent pressure” interpretation procedure; if the quarterback clearly isn’t throwing the ball away just to avoid a sack, it’s not grounding.
Benson rushes for 14 yards on two straight carries to begin half. Solution: go back to throwing.
How many fist downs through penalties on this 1st Packer drive in the 2nd half?
Two. Roughing the passer and 12 men on the field.
I think I saw a Packer breathe a little heavily on a Seahawk.
Held the Packers to 6 points in the 2nd half. Maybe we will start playing defence before they get to our 30 yard line.
Are you posting from the future?
Oops. I think a Packer looked askance at a Seahawk.
ETA: And a Seahawk whispered at Finley.
