NFL Week 3

Robbery

LOL, this is awesome.

How did they not see the blatant push-off by Tate? He did it right in front of the ref!

Just. Wow.

Un. Fucking. Real. I’m a Bears fan, happy to see the Packers lose a game. But that was probably one of the worst screw jobs I’ve ever seen.

First time I’ve seen a game won by a reach-around.

Wow. A clusterfuck of unbelievable proportions.

Also a bump here of a Pit I started about a foul bitch of a Twitterer re: Torrey Smith

Just fucking pay them already. I can’t watch this product.

To Gruden and everyone else saying this is the worst call ever deciding a game, I call BULLSHIT. There was a much worse call that decided a playoff game by the real refs. 2002 wildcard game, Giants vs 49ers.

So I don’t want to hear about how much of a travesty this is and how the replacement refs are an abomination. Real refs sometimes do worse in much bigger games.

So, can/will they reverse this?

Well…let’s see. Last play of the game. WR Tate raped one defender, but per the butt sex rule, that blatant offensive pass interference was ignored, then GB DB Jennings intercepted in the endzone, Tate somehow managed to touch the ball with a fingernail (well, ok, maybe most of his hand) as he and four Packers fell to the turf, one ref signals touchback, like he should on an interception, another ref signals TD. On review, they announce the call on the field stands…apparently meaning the TD call, not the correct call. Then a couple of Seahawks do postgame interviews while the Packers leave the field, then the Packers come back for a mandatory extra point play, and basically stand there while Seattle kicks the meaningless extra point.

Biggest Mongolian cluster fuck I’ve seen.

I found a video here. (Well, for the time being, before it gets pulled.) Yipes.

I think that it was perfectly fair for that non-call on the blatant defensive pass interference with 40 seconds left to be made up by the simultaneous possesion ruling at the end.

That was some entertaining historic sports TV, that was!

If the result is reversed, I’m pretty sure it’ll be the first time that’s ever happened. So highly unlikely.

Yeah, the NFL would have to do something totally unprecedented, and in so doing would have to admit that the replacement refs completely screwed the pooch on this one. So unlikely in the extreme.

As if it weren’t bad enough, the replay shows that the official who signaled touchdown had no view of the struggle for the ball. He just THOUGHT he saw the GB player rip the ball out of Tate’s hands some seconds after they hit the ground.

Maybe Tate is on his fantasy team.

Animated GIFs in case the linked video gets flagged.

There’s a big difference between blowing one big call in one big game and blowing 10 calls in every game. Do you honestly believe the replacement officials are doing an acceptable job, or did you just want to take this opportunity to whine a little a decade after the fact?
