The playcalling and clock management on that last drive was terrible. Having one second left on the clock at the end is really lucky because the timekeeper could’ve easily let the clock run an extra second especially if the ball had sailed out of bounds rather than got smacked down. I think about 80% of the time everyone is calling for the coach’s head there as Green Bay loses 40-37 because they let the clock run out.
The highest-scored tie game was 43-43 between the AFL’s Boston Patriots and the Oakland Raiders, which happened on October 16,1964.
No doubt. GB called their last timeout with 28 seconds left and the ball on the 15, 2nd and 13. Plenty of time to throw two passes into the end zone and still kick the FG if necessary. Instead, they throw a short swing pass where the receiver gets tackled inbounds, and then waste multiple seconds getting into position to throw the last pass which could have (and, frankly, should have) run out the clock.
I don’t know why we’re having double MNF games in week 4 but I gotta say I enjoy it, I wish this was a thing all season
So, that happened.
Ok, I’ll watch the clip. They wouldn’t show it if it were too gruesome, right?
Oh…oh god… Why did I watch that??
Football is brutal. I saw a still photo.
I do not really care who wins the game between the Jets and Dolphins, but I will say that the Jets are getting massively screwed by the zebras tonight.
Yeah, I couldn’t get that either. At the 15-yard line, a field goal is nearly guaranteed to be good. A swing pass to move you five or ten yards closer to the goal line isn’t going to meaningfully increase your chances of a good field goal attempt. Whereas Green Bay really needed a touchdown.
Bummer about Tyreek Hill, I’m not a fan but that’s not fun for anyone.
I saw a comment earlier this week that the Jets-Dolphins game was flexed to Comedy Central. I laughed.
We all did!
Well, I knew I saw it somewhere.
