Some great division matchups this week with 49ers/Seahawks, Giants/Commanders, and Dolphins/Bills. Can the Dolphins repeat their early-season upset of the Bills, despite looking like crap the last two weeks and playing in the frozen north this time? Can a 49ers third-string quarterback beat a Seahawks journeyman-turned-phenom-turned-back-to-reality Seahawks QB?

In other games, I’m looking for the Lions to squeak by the Jets, and the Bengals to stomp all over the Brady’s. I’d like nothing more than to see the Bucs out of the playoffs, but unfortunately someone has to win the NFC South. Come on, Panthers, step it up!

After the first half tonight, I’ll get to add Brock Purdy to the list that includes Mike White, Taylor Heinicke, Geno Smith, and PJ Walker as the next great NFL QB who just needed an opportunity, at least according to the announcers.

The weather could be a major factor this weekend. There are games with playoff implications in Buffalo, New York, Cleveland, Chicago, and Washington, plus other games in Green Bay and Denver. The weather is the reason why I’m picking the Jets over the Lions in what’s essentially a toss-up game.

I absolutely loathe the glut of roughing-the-passer penalties this season. I have no idea how a defensive lineman is supposed to take down a qb without landing on top of him.

Don’t forget Bailey Zappe!

My wife showed me this meme and it’s scary:

You might enjoy this potential rule change as much as I would then:

Zach Wilson gets the start for the Jets with Mike White dinged up. That’s appointment television for me in a trainwreck kind of way. Last two games he started he combined for 180 passing yards. He could do serious damage to his career – potentially ending it – if he has another 80-yard passing day this week.

Don’t be so pessimistic - he’s just following the Geno Smith career path. He’ll definitely get another start 8 years from now.

I still can’t get over his answer to that question: Your defense held the opponent to three points all game, but the offense could only manage three points of its own. Do you feel like you let the defense down? “No.”

No pause, no accountability. Just an immediate, dismissive no. Guy’s lucky he wasn’t run out of town on a rail.

But then again, Geno Smith ended up on the injury report when a teammate sucker punched him in the face in the locker room over an unpaid debt. (Broke his jaw!) So your comparison is apt, I’ll grant you. A definite whiff of "Are you kidding me?!" going on.

So it says it’s on fox, but it’s college basketball. Any other way to watch these games without NFL NETWORK?

Did getting spanked by the Lions last week take away Minnesota’s will to live? They look awful.

I guess they woke up at halftime.

The Vikings really got screwed on that fumble call.

Greatest comeback ever by the Vikings today.

They were down by 33 points and won the game. Previous largest deficit overcome was 32, by the Bills over the Oilers in a 1993 playoff game.

Boo on my decision to cancel NFL Network earlier this year.

"“Utter collapse by the Colts”, seeya next year.

I’m watching tonight’s Miami-Buffalo game. It had snowed earlier today in Buffalo, and while the field was clear of snow, the stands were not.

The game had to be stopped for a few minutes, while the fans were told not to thrown snowballs onto the field, which they had done for both Buffalo touchdowns so far. They were further warned that if they continued to throw snowballs, Buffalo would be penalized 15 yards on the next play.

On the other hand, during the delay, the TV was showing some of the snowmen that fans had made in the stands. Some were pretty good!

Sounds like some pretty epic games that I managed to miss because I forgot about Saturday football and had a busy day. Well I guess I can catch the replays on gamepass.

Unless you have a subscription to the NFL Network you would have missed it in any event. As did I. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
