The Packers are doing a reasonably good job containing Peterson (though he can still go yard at any time), so Favre’s had to be the man, and so far he has been.
The only that that scares me about the Packers is Jennings. He can strike as quickly as AD can.
AD atoned for his fumble, but that drive was really all Favre. The knob polishing from the ESPN crew is in full force now, but it doesn’t bother me as much as it used to when he was on the other side. Funny how that works.
That’s what I mean though, they don’t need him to have 150 every game. The defense looks fantastic for the most part and Favre does his thing when they need him to.
With the protection he’s had, I’m slightly amazed that Rodgers is still healthy. Eight sacks? Seriously guys?
I didn’t expect to win this one, though – just get healthy, take care of the Browns and get back on track. Still plenty of season left. That ugly win over the Bears has saved the Packers’ season thus far.
Chad Clifton, the starting LT (and one of the few veterans) was out. Darryl Colledge (another vet) left the game. The new starters may yet get their act together; they were starting to before Clifton got knocked out. The Packers have a bye next week, followed by the Browns; hopefully they can get things sorted out in time for their next serious opponent. I’m not jumping off any bridges just yet.
Maybe at some point Jennings will show up, too. That would just be a bonus, though.
Well, nothing really surprising, just really fucking depressing. Jared Allen makes our LT (whether Colledge or Lang) look like a rag doll, Rodgers needs more time and makes mistakes without it, and the Packers play well within their gameplan (stop AD). Favre looked great (pity that, can’t wait for his swoon). Congrats to the Vikings on their hot start, and we’'ll see you in a few weeks.
