NFL Week 4

I’m guessing roughing up Triplett in the scrum didn’t help when the discussion was going on. The refs have swallowed the whistle on about 3 personal fouls against the Packers in the last few minutes.

Of course, the fact that the Packers can’t stop the Saints on long yardage is a bigger problem

Yeah, I can’t believe Woodson didn’t get ejected (not that I am unsympathetic to the Packers’ ref plight).

Delicious.

Fuck yeah!!!

A win, I’ll take it.

How many fucking ways can the [insert favorite team here] get fucked by the refs?

Ack. Holding penalty negates what coulda/shoulda/woulda been the game winning FG, and Hartley missed the second attempt. Saints fall to 0-4. Sigh. We’ve been here before. Think I still have a paper bag around here somewhere…:frowning:

I do like seeing a good goal line stand

Damn, Dio, thought you got banned.

Did any of you see the play I was referring to? Let me help remind you that it was the one where there was an undisputable fumble by Sproles on a return that the officials missed, but the Packers couldn’t challenge. It was clearly a fumble, and clearly the officials fucked up the call.

I completely understand the whole “Oh, you’re bitching about the refs” thing. But if the difference between bitching about a blatantly obviously wrong call that costs a team possession and possibly the game and bitching about every minor judgment call escapes you guys, perhaps you need to pay more attention to football.

I missed a big part of the game. Why didn’t the Packers have any challenges left?

Hope he nails this after the timeout. God I hate icing the kicker.

McCarthy had used the two they got earlier in the game.

Well, obviously. On what? Was either successful?

You didn’t refer to any play. You said, in very broad terms, “How many fucking ways can the Packers get fucked by the refs?”, which actually implies more than one play.

Now if you would have said, "Man the refs screwed the Packers on this play, and linked to the play, I might have agreed. As your post stands, it just sounds like a typical pout from a typical fan.

Very stupidly I might add.

Glad we could clear that up then.

The ass-pounding the Jets took was comical on so many levels. Even though the Giants lost, the difference between the two NY teams couldn’t be bigger.

Speaking of the Giants, despite the loss I was happy at the end because I thought it was a good game. I think having two recent Superbowl wins, including the most recent one, takes the sting out of early season losses. 0-2 in the division sucks, but I won’t get worried until the second half swoon.

Despite the recent franchise successes, I can’t shake the mindset that the Giants are owned by everyone in the division. It’s a weird position. Now I know that Big Blue has owned the Cowboys, but my impression is that Dallas broke that curse week 1 and will win many in a row. I hate being owned by all three division rivals. heh.

The end of that game was odd to me. One of those PI against the Eagles looked super weak; the kind of play you can’t throw a flag on. But that OPI against Barden? I think you could have called that from the International Space Station. Was clear as day to me, blatant OPI. The announcers in the booth thought it was iffy, Mike & Mike thought it could easily not be called. What the heck? If ever there was a blatant pass interference, wasn’t that it?

Loved Eli’s take on it: “I didn’t put it in a good spot, so Ramses had to make that play. He had no choice, had to interfere and take the penalty. He made a good play there.”

Hey, you win some you lose some, at least the G-Men showed up. Good god the Jets are an embarassing joke.

Evidently not, at least when you’re playing the Packers…
