NFL Week 4

That’s what I thought. The second call against the Eagles wasn’t there at all and shouldn’t have been made. The offensive PI call was a complete mugging. The CB had position and would have made an interception except he was dragged down from behind.

By his face!

I loved it. Sure the points the 49ers scored on me in fantasy was a killer, but it is so much fun watching that team melt down. From Santonio’s handing the ball to defense for a touchdown (granted it was after injury, but don’t you push the ball out of bounds?) to Shonn Greene (can somebody explain to me how he continues to be the lead back when averaging 2.8 ypc?) getting constantly stuffed to Tebow completing his first pass, it’s fun to watch.

No. One of them was a Jordy Nelson catch that I could see was incomplete watching it on my phone.

Yep, I knew that was going to bite us in the ass when he threw it. Bad decision by McCarthy.

The other was on a pass to Jimmy Graham that was ruled a catch, but looked iffy at best. It was a third down play, and if the call was reversed, the Saints would have to punt. I thought it was worth a challenge. On review, I think the Saints benefited from a generous interpretation of the “indisputable video evidence” rule. The call on the field stood, and the drive continued.

Me too! Worse (for me), last week the Steelers iced the kicker and if they hadn’t, he would have missed, probably changing the game.

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano has been diagnosed with leukemia. Bruce Arians will take over as coach for at least six weeks and possible for the rest of the season while Pagano is in treatment.

I loved this as a 49er fan and a Nevada alum. Kaepernick, the 49ers backup QB out of Nevada and QB with similar skills as Cam Newton (i.e. they can both run and throw), outrushed the entire Jets team, including a TD. Tebow, the hyped second coming of the option offense in the NFL (or some such garbage), rushed for 0. Sure, Kaepernick was 0/1 on passing attempts, but that was a 60 yard attempt to Moss (that probably should not have been thrown) and he clearly has the arm.

ahem Post 42.

I was at the Dolphins/Jets game last week and Philbin iced Nick Folk… on a kick that was blocked. I think I was the only person in the stadium who heard the whistle; the 'phins fans were going nuts, and my FIL was sobbing into his beer. I was like, “it’s okay! He fucked up!”

I assume you’ve forgotten that the Packers had their last game taken from them by a bad call as well. So it is plural. Happily, the ref-fucking didn’t change the outcome this time!

Not the game, but it may have changed the outcome of my life expectancy.

On the final game winning drive, RG3’s headset wasn’t working.

Barring continual injuries, that kid is going to be a hall of famer. You have no idea how much it hurts deep down in my balls and/or soul when that trade went down.

After 4 NFL games? You don’t think that just might be a bit premature?

Nah. Anyway, why stop there? He’s bound to be ESPN SportsCentury’s #1 athlete of the 21st century, too. Also, President of the Federated Territories of America.

And post-NFL, he’ll win the Nobel prize, and, in an event sure to move Senor Beef to tears, he’ll complete the world’s first brain transplant for none other than Jerome Harrison.

I may have said he’s going to be a hall of famer pre-draft, so his start only reinforces this. Assuming he doesn’t get cleaved in twain, what are his flaws?

He sometimes works too hard. And he watches too much film and cares too much for the Redskins.

The guy has a whopping 4 td passes and has played the defensive juggernauts of the Saints, the Bucs, the Bungles and the Rams. He’s been impressive so far, but this hall of fame talk is kinda silly at this point.

What the fuck is Gruden on?

Same thing he’s always on? I really wish someone would offer him a coaching job he couldn’t refuse so that we wouldn’t have to listen to him anymore.
