NFL Week 4

I feel bad for Kizer. He’s not doing great, but he’s now had 4 red zone ints that were all bounced off his receivers hands. Kenny Britt practically deflected a ball to a defender on purpose. He’d develop so much better with a non-garbage receiver or two.

The most Jets things in a while, fake punt followed by missed field goal to end the half.

They’ve upped the Jets-factor in the second half. Only my Giants can find more ways to lose.

A tie would be very much Jets.

Bills on top of the AFC East! We’re gonna party like it’s 1999!

Wow, Dallas had to try three times to not get the 2pt conversion. That was pretty crazy.

I think the holding call on that first attempt was at least suspect.

Not that it would have mattered, they’d just have lost by 2 fewer points.

It really isn’t. He’s just as good as those guys…when he’s on the field, which isn’t often enough due to the fact that he’s a sometimes dirty player.

It’s funny…my fifteen year old son and I were talking about how the Bengals used to be an arrest machine (mostly due to Chris Henry…RIP) in the 2005-2008 era and how many suspensions there were, and how now we’ve got a guy whom gets into no trouble with the law but gets mass suspensions for his play on the field rather than indiscretions off of it.

Giants are the new Jets.

The Pats are quietly 2-2 after many folks predicting a perfect season…

Well it’s perfectly balanced, does that count?

Seattle’s offense is teh suck.

Yeah, they shouldn’t even bother fielding their offense of the defense is outscoring them.

I’m sure there are multiple teams who wished their offense sucked enough to get 477 yards (almost 8 per play), 4 touchdowns (with one successful 2 point conversion), and win the possession battle.

Granted they didn’t get hot until the second half, the O-line still stinks, and they lost their top running back for who knows how long. But the offense is improving. Next week will be huge, the winner takes the NFC West lead and I think it’s a big test for them.

The defense didn’t outscore the offense, the offense was responsible for more points than defense and special teams combined (thanks to one missed field goal from Walsh, sigh…).

It is Trubisky time in Chicago.

In my opinion, it is too early. Look, the Bears suck but it isn’t all Mike Glennon’s fault I would have waited at least half a season, the Bears aren’t going to turn into a playoff contender with a change at QB, Joe Montana couldn’t win with this group of ragtag wide receivers.

Counter-point: Is Trubisky really learning anything sitting and watching Glennon? The O-line is pretty solid, so the goal right now should be to get Trubisky some real experience.

I think the general idea in letting him sit is that he can see the pace and complexity of the NFL game up close. He can learn from his coaches as well as by seeing the opposing team’s QB play. Trubisky had just one season as a college starter, at North Carolina, not exactly a hotbed of college football.

I’m hoping (as is every other Bears fan, I would assume) that Trubisky will get better production out of the wide receiver corps than Glennon did. Glennon was slow, immobile, couldn’t feel the pass rush, was slow to make his reads, and would spot opponents 2 touchdowns before the Bears offense could even get going. Now of course, Bellamy shouldn’t ever be thrown to in any situation ever but maybe Thompson, Wheaton, and Wright will get energized by the QB changeup.

Chiefs 4-0. I didn’t get to see much of the game for reasons, but it appears that their plan this year is to play just well to win and generally keep the result in doubt to the end so that the advertisers get to keep everyone watching.
