So when they destroyed the old Cleveland Municipal stadium, they used the bricks to create reefs in Lake Erie. Apparently effects from Hurricane Sandy caused a bunch of those bricks to wash up on shore. Not far from the new owners house. And they’re playing against the illegitimate entity this week.

So… back from the depths… omens… magic… etc etc. Superbowl.

Sproles is out for the Saints with a broken hand. Graham is still limping a bit with his ankle injury. And I doubt the defense has suddenly learned how to play, so this game is a toss up. Hoping my Saints can pull off a win…and if Vick happens to get crushed in the process, that would be ok, too.

I hope that Cleveland manages to beat the Ratbirds, the Giants destroy the Steelers, and somehow the Bengals manage to pull a win out of their asses against Manning, whom they have never beaten.

I’m not very optimistic for any of those things, but it would be nice.

Well I say it every week but - I’m more than a little nervous about this week. The Giants are a great team, The Steelers have to travel on the same day as the game and we have too many injuries!

I am keenly interested to see how the Steelers patchwork offensive line holds up against arguably the best defensive line in the league. Ben might get a couple ouchies in this one.

I was looking for this thread yesterday. I was expecting a lot of in-depth analysis of the epic Chargers-Chiefs clash!

I like how ESPN keeps repeating Rivers’ 18/20 as something like the fifth most accurate game of all time*.

  • 20 passes minimum.

If only Alex Smith had thrown an extra interception on Monday, like Rivers did on Thursday, then he could’ve joined this list too!

Oh also, when Rivers threw that interception at the end of the first half, I really thought that might be the point of no return. If they had ended up losing, I think they just blow up the team.

Do you think this week clarifies the playoff contenders, or further muddle it?

Miami and Tampa Bay were my two tough calls for the week. NO too with Sproles out now.

I think this game is Philly’s season. Then again, I thought they were done after week one when it was the same old poorly-coached, stupid Eagles. The problem is that they’re also probably too stupid to realize the stakes and will play like stoned zombies as they did the last week. For a team that showed so much heart in winning close games early in the season, they looked like a bunch of timid quitters last week. How does a team change so dramatically in the span of half a season? I’m guessing it comes back to the idiot coach.

The interesting part is how the Eagles are in this strange boat that SenorBeef has been talking about for weeks and months with his Browns; the Eagles might be in position to take a top QB (especially with the way the top QBs are floundering in college)… but they just took Foles. And because Reid is coaching for his job, he won’t bench Vick and see what Foles has. So the Eagles might lose a chance on a top-end QB prospect for a guy they haven’t seen play and wasn’t a top prospect to begin with.

Sean Payton’s contract voided.

Jason Garrett better get his act together fast.

I’m surprised to hear you say that you think there’s been a dramatic change, or a change at all, really. I think it has to be said that even in two of those three close games, heart or not, the weaknesses that have killed them otherwise have still showed up big-time. If Vick’s fumble against the Browns on the game winning drive had ended up in the defense’s hands for his 5th turnover of the day, that would have been a horrible, horrible loss, the season would look much different, and Reid and Vick would be dead men long before now.

I just think is what mediocre teams look like. If it wasn’t for this play or that play, our defense hasn’t been that bad, we’re getting close to the quarterback, we aren’t executing down the stretch, etc. Really good teams just go out and do their thing, really bad teams get things done to them, and everybody else muddles around and hopes.

But if the Eagles are in Barkley territory, that means Reid’s definitely gone, don’t you think? If that’s the case do you doubt that the new man in charge would be willing to go in a different direction from Reid’s 2012 bottom-third-rounder?

I have to say, I’m liking the Redskins leather-look helmets. Actually, that whole uniform has a nice look to it.

Browns have 2nd and 1 and fail to convert on both of the first 2 drives.

I’m about to throw my goddamned remote through the TV, and we’re not even 10 minutes in.

Two 3rd and 1s and they’re trying to hit home-run passes. Get a goddamn first down, Shurmur. Fucking loser coach.

I can’t believe they allow Jeff Triplette to officiate Browns games still.

Bears defense has been fucking ridiculous, especially for fantasy purposes.

The Titans are just awful.

I wonder if Cleveland is on pace for a historic number of drops this year. It’s absurd how many passes I’ve seen bounce off hands. Weeden’s stats would actually be pretty good if his receivers had average hands.

They managed to put time back on the clock at the end of the quarter twice or something in order to get 3 sets of commercials into one end of quarter.
