NFL's Aaron Hernandez murder suspect?

As crazy as this case has become, the fact that he might be connected to two other murders is pretty shocking.

Agreed. If he is found guilty in both cases, by popular definition he would actually be a serial killer. I think that would be a first for the NFL.

I’ve been following this story from far away as a displaced New Englander - man, what a bizarre scenario so far. Even weirder than Rae Carruth from way back when.

Not really. That wiki page continues:

He’s not acting alone, and there’s no “psychological gratification” that I see, as these seem to be gang-related of sorts.

Yeah, I’m good just calling him a scumbag murderer. I don’t need to call him a serial killer in order to regard him as a disgusting excuse for humanity.

I had the same thought. I don’t think he’d technically qualify, but it’s as close as anybody has come in professional sports has come so far. :stuck_out_tongue:

But if he kills the Trix Rabbit and Cap’n Crunch also…just sayin’.

Oh, for fuck’s sake - I should’ve known, this is the Dope.
re: nitpickers

Please check the 5th and 6th words of my quotation.

Also, note my use of qualifier “popular”.
Don’t make me go all NotfooledbyW on your asses. Trust me, no one wins then :(.

I don’t think that helps. I’d say the popular definition is someone who kills just for psychological gratification, and if he’s linked to these other killings I would be surprised if he pulled the trigger himself. It’s enough to say that he’s a shitbag and he’ll probably spend the rest of his life in jail.

I think it really depends upon the precise motivation as to the murder(s), as opposed to gang membership as the defining factor.

For example, John Favara was John Gotti’s backyard neighbor. One day, Favara kills Gotti’s son in a traffic accident with no charges filed. Then one day, not too long after, the guy disappears. The presumption has long been that Gotti had him disposed of as revenge.

Should Favara’s killing really be considered a “mob hit”? I’d argue that it was a personal murder committed by Gotti outside of his duties as a crimelord. Likewise, until we find out, it’s not totally ridiculous for someone to conjecture the motive for the first alleged murders as nothing more than “They disrespected me!”, and for the second as “You’re not telling anyone about what we did last summer!”.

Depends if you count gladiators or not.

Ack, how awful.

Well, according to Adam Schefter the Boston PD has located the SUV used in the double homicide. It was rented by Aaron Hernandez.

I am not making that up.

Might be funnier if you did.

That could be a macabre game to play.

Step 1) State piece of incriminating evidence.
Step 2) Decide if it’s made up or Aaron Hernandez was actually dumb enough to leave it as evidence.

I’m not sure I’d do better than flipping a coin.

And now police are saying that they found a copy of The Rubiayat by Omar Khayyam in his house with these strange symbols written on it.

It turns out that he actually walked through wet cement in the Industrial Park that night!

Not only do they have the footprints in the slab, but he had the shoes with dried concrete in his basement.

:smack:

He’s now a meme

HA!

This just in from Urban Legends Times: Bill Belichick planted all evidence in Hernandez’ home just so he could get Tebow to play TE as an unpaid sucker. :stuck_out_tongue:

I wonder if Hernandez was involved in drug trafficking as well. In both the Odin murder and the double homicide last year, rental cars were involved, and rental cars are, let’s just say, the preferred mode of transport for your interstate coke dealer.

Made up.

(We’re playing Antibob’s guessing game, right? I mean, nobody could be that stupid… right?)

Holee sheeit. He is going away for a long, long time. What a moron. And an asshole.
