NHL Playoffs

Yes! Goal stands! Cheap, but stil a goal. Wings lead 1-0.

Well that was one of the oddest goals I have ever seen, But I’ll take it

Red wings are looking pretty lackluster through 2 periods. If not for a couple fairly lucky goals and some good play by Osgood they could be well out of it.
Not a time for panic, but time for Babcock to earn his big paycheck and kick some asses into gear. Maybe a line change-up or two to manufacture some energy.

Man I hope we can steal this, cause the Wings are getting badly outplayed. A puck possession team that can’t get possession of the puck is not a good thing. Kronwall and Helm are the only ones who look like they are playing a playoff game.

Just now a powerplay in overtime, there is hope yet ;).

2OT coming up. Wings weren’t being outplayed during the second half of first OT. I’ve had a few mild heart attacks. I think I’ll be ok, at least for now. I’ve never loved and hated something at the same time so much as playoff hockey OT.

Yeah, during and after the power play they finally really stepped up and started taking the game to 'em.

But…

They had better come out the same way and end it, because under the unwritten rules they are not going to get much benefit of the doubt if there is a chance to even up the OT PPs

Not in double OT wolf. Last thing a zebra wants is to be the one who made the bad call that made the series for a team. Unless it is ugly or obvious as hell, no calls will be made.

TRIPLE OVERTIME!

This is a great game!

…but we’re running out of beer…

<sign> Great. This is driving me crazy. Reminds me of Game 5 of the finals last year. I still have a few beers left. Started with a twelve pack. I was only gonna drink the duration of the game. Looks like I’m gonna be drunk when the lady gets home. I’m in trouble, the Wings better win.

Damn! Ducks tie series.

QUACK! *There’s *your stinkin’ 1st period quote unquote goal!

Good luck with the little woman, Bruce. But, if she’s going to be pissed, you may as well be pissed also, eh?

Don’t blame us. It was your defenseman who didn’t use a definite kicking motion.

Anaheim did what they had to and avoided stupid penalties, though truth be told I didn’t see one good penalty in the game. I wonder which ones the refs were watching. Now Detroit has to make sure that Hiller doesn’t set up shop in their heads. They didn’t help themselves by going high on Hiller nearly every shot, or by letting Anaheim run the game in the second period. They also need to get Datsyuk and Zetterberg going. Put them on the same line with Holmstrom. Throw Hossa on with Hudler or Helm and Franzen.

I’m also just glad that the triple ot was on the matinee game. Now let’s all pray that Detroit can win the next two games by large scores by the end of the first period so I won’t miss anything due to stupid pacific time 10 o’clock games.

Yeah, I don’t expect it either. I can dream though.

I got tired just watching that game. I think there are some very tired legs tonight.

So did these guys.

Psst. Somebody wake up drm. Tell him they’re back in Carolina and that his boss is calling about why he hasn’t shown up for work.

Oh, and not that I’m taking anything away from your goalie, but Varlamov had an “equally if not better than” save with the heel of his goalie stick as well.

Good games, all in all. Glad not to see a lot of referee silliness or stupid plays.

Canes even the series with Boston with a 3-0 shutout.

I have to be honest, I was kinda busy this weekend (Hot Docs in Toronto this weekend so I’ve been in theatres) so I couldn’t watch many of the games, though i did see the Vancouver collapse on Saturday. My logic tells me that Bobby Lou will be back with a vengeance for the rest of the series. I’m just playing the odds on that call. He shuts out Chicago next game.

I also managed to catch the last few minutes of that Carolina game and I really think this will be a long series which should really work to the benefit of the Pittsburgh/Washington winner - which I’m a little less confident of now considering how well Varlamov is playing. For me predictions sake, lets hope he comes back to earth next game. Everybody knows, however, that a series never gets interesting until someone loses on home ice.

As an aside, for my sanity, I really hope neither the Caps nor the Pens win this year. Good lord, I couldn’t take the slurping. I’d go deaf.

S

…oh, and 59 saves? That’s a career for Dan Cloutier.

I watched the first period and was prepared to declare the Canes dead and buried. They looked completely outmatched at that point.

Anything you can do I can do better
I can do anything better than you…

Can you pull a hat trick? (probably too soon to find a link)

ALEXANDER OVECHKIN!!!

…I’ll be back…
