Thank you.
And, yes, I know… I’m looking for the cite graphic… Sheesh.
Thank you.

I think he THOUGHT he was the chosen one and has really had to take a back seat to Ovechkin and Malkin over the last couple seasons (rightfully so…). I think he thinks he deserves to be in that conversation and is making it his mission to show people that this offseason.
He probably does have some growing up to do, you’re right about that. But who doesn’t as his age really? He seems to be making some progress from his first year or two in the league, that’s for sure. Considering the expectations he’s had to shoulder since he was in peewee, I think he’s doing reasonably, perhaps not perfectly but reasonably. I do feel a bit sorry for Crosby because he simply doesn’t have the personality to endear himself to the public like an Ovechkin does. You are either born with it or you aren’t, Crosby wasn’t.
Incidentally, i hope he makes it to the finals again this year if for no other reason that I get to watch his board work for another few games. Crosby along the boards is perhaps one of my favorite things to watch in hockey.
As for who I’d like to see Pittsburgh face, easy choice…Carolina. I really have no love for Carolina, but I hate the Leafs and they fired Paul Maurice, so I want him to do as well as humanly possible. If they won the Stanley Cup with him behind the bench, the city might have a meltdown…this city [Toronto] and it’s hockey…what’re you gonna do.
Crosby’s not quite as natural a goal scorer as Ovechkin, but nobody in the league has the vision on the ice that he has. THAT’s why he’s great. He’s very much in the mold of Gretzky…he looks to pass first, not shoot, which is why his assists are through the roof…he makes plays that give everyone else extremely good chances to score. I’ve never seen a guy who can pass like he can, except watching highlights of Gretzky in his prime.
Bear with me…this is the last chance I’ll get to do this:
Quack! Quack!! QUACK!!! What?
A game-winning goal, near the end of the 3rd, in a game 7?!?! And there’s no review?
Okay, I won’t cry about it. But I thought Hiller had a case that his pad was pushed.
Enough of me. I haven’t gotten a single prediction right yet. Go me!
Bloody friggin’ hell. That game didn’t really need to be that interesting. Great series Ducks. And hopefully those refs will be sent to Siberia where they will never be heard from again
Go Red Wings!
I was expecting a review as well, but it looked to me on replay that the puck squirted through his pads before they were pushed by Cleary(?).
Hey now be kind, I’m pretty sure the bible says “Bless the fuckingly incompetent, screamingly unqualified, dumb-ass, blind, rule book illiterate , criminally unbalanced, insane, cheating, and fundamentally ridiculous pieces of crap that will most likely die in the sudden backing up of a startled ewe” or something like that.
I am just so glad we won :), but nothing ever should have been that close. Kinda cool that every goal was scored by a third tier player, this team has depth that is amazing in the age of salary caps. And now to celebrate we get to face Toews, Kane and most importantly the Cup winning Midas-touch of Bowman.
Damn I love hockey as much as I hate Pronger.
No way. Clearly a legitimate goal. No disputes about it.
That’s what I was saying. The puck squirted through five hole before his pads were pushed. I think the goal would’ve stood up to review, but I can see where one was called for.
Going nuts, Red Wings win. Rooting for Bruins in OT.
Western Conference
(2)Detroit Red Wings vs. (4)Chicago Blackhawks
My prediction: Wings in Five.
Eastern Conference
(4)Penguins vs. (6)Canes
Pens in 4.
Ouch…
WALKER SCORES!!! First Time Ever!!!
Red Wings in 5
Hurricanes in 7
Rysto is big winner, will caculate scores tomorrow. Post predictions…
Well I believe I went 0 for 4 and I only picked 1 correct team so I don’t know why I’m doing this again, but:
Pittsburgh/Canes: The Pens could have a letdown after the last series or they could steamroll. I don’t see a let down happening to Sid though. I think this comes down to MAF and I think he plays well enough. Pittsburgh 6
Detroit/Chicago: I don’t see any way Chicago wins this. It just seems absolutely incomprehensible. I think Detroit has them in every conceivable category (which means Chicago wins knowing how good I seem to be at this). Detroit 5
Point totals.
Rysto: 27
Harborwolf, Hockey Monkey: 23
Leaffan: 20
drm: 19
Me: 18
Hap Shaughnessy: 10
Uncle Brother Walker: 4
Yeticus Rex: 0
Doubling points this round.
Fun trivia fact: Darren Helm has never scored in the regular season. Every once of his goals has come in the postseason. He’s like Claude Lemieux, but without the evil grime surrounding his game.
not gonna happen. Canes in 7. Wings in 6.
Red Wings fan here. I watched a few periods of Chicago’s last series, and it was a wild free-for-all. The disciplined Wings should make short work of all that, but there’s always the Osgood Factor to consider as well (as in you never know when he’ll give up a soft goal at the worst possible time).
