Wow, your a ninja.
They add another ring to the cup. Not sure where it goes. At the bottom I presume.

Unbelievable! I really thought the Wings were going to tie it (off the crossbar) or in that last flurry.
Good series Wings.
(For the record, it was another bad pinch by the Detroit D, that gave up the second goal. Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure Stuart was responsible for both goals against.)
Let’s do it again next year!
A rubber match certainly could be in the cards with these two teams. What an unbelievable series…these were two very evenly matched teams…appropriate that the cup comes down to game 7, with a one goal victory, and a tying marker being swatted away in the final second. What a great series, and what a great playoff season. Probably the best hockey overall I’ve ever witnessed.
The older rings get sent to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, and the new names get added to the bottom, to keep the cup the same size and weight every year.
Dupis’ son had a Penguins shirt that had “DADDY” on the back… so cute! And Letang almost made me cry talking about Bourdon…damn.
Yay Pens!
Oh, that makes sense.
We have a picture of my cousin holding it when he was about ten. He was a member of the Junior Penguins, and my uncle’s still one of the directors.
Aaawwww. (I missed this when I posted this before!)
Oh my god, I’m watching the news, and you should SEE the crowd down in Oakland! Fortunately, it doesn’t SEEM like the mayhem after the Super Bowl (couches burning and the like). But they have a hell of a lot of cops.
Double post!
I would be happy to be in such a situation.
Will Osgood be back next year?
Let’s see what we had here. Bear with me, because I’m sure I’ll forget a few:
-
They should have just given the Stanley Cup to the Red Wings and let the Pens and Blackhawks play a consolation round.
-
Marian Hossa knows a winner when he sees it.
-
The Penguins didn’t win games, the Red Wings just lost them.
-
The Wings can step up whenever they need to.
-
The Wings never lose at home.
-
The Pens just score pretty goals but don’t play defense.
-
The Penguins revealed their true character.
-
Red Wings fans are classy.
ETA: Forgot - Maxime Talbot has a girl name!
Setting the running of the mouths aside now -
We’re proud of you, Pens!
Pittsburgh is once again the City of Champions!
If you were to tell me Fleury would be a Stanley Cup winning goaltender three years ago I would have laughed in your face. He’s played fantastic for two playoffs in a row now. Very impressive.
…and if the Pens winning wasn’t enough, my local AHL team, the Hershey Bears, won the Calder Cup.
This is a good year for professional teams in Pennsylvania.
Except for the Pirates. (Boooooo)
BTW, does anyone know if like football jerseys, you can still get classic players? Because I’d rather have a Mario jersey, but they only seem to have current players. Unlike the Steelers, where you can buy Franco, Bradshaw, Mean Joe, etc.
I’m still proud of the year that the Pitt Panther’s basketball team and the Penn State football team had too, even though they came up just short.
And speaking of classy…
Ok, I was rooting for the Pens, but how is it, with all the testosterone in an NHL locker room, that M-A Fleury’s voice never broke?
You mean you don’t still have yours? Mine fits me like a regular, somewhat tight shirt these days, considering I was 5 and 6 when they won…
Don’t like it, don’t run your mouth next time. Or just recognize that the Penguins are the better team, and just maybe they had something to do with beating the Red Wings.
Or perhaps you think the Red Wings are saving themselves and are ready to step up for Game 8.
While we’re at it, how did that poor kid get the nickname of flower?
Fleur, mon sir?
The police are already dressed in riot gear (fortunately, it just seems like a precaution so far)
