Someone please explain this movie to me. I can’t get it. Why did they have to STEAL drugs? Surely any doctor would phone the pharmacy and refill her prescription if her illness was legit?
Why go to Canada? If they live in New York State, and they need to go to a big city to find a black head Barbie Doll, Boston or New York City would be closer than Toronto.
What about the ending? Was that real or what? Did she actually die?
Why would the fellow, after seeing the guy who took them in, allow her to have a gun?
The movie was cute but frustrating as nothing was logical. And even that might be explained for the girl, but out of being hit by his dad and a kelptomaniac the fellow seemed rational enuff.
I have no idea what movie you are talking about…BUT…
It would depend on where in New York State the characters live. And since I’m assuming the title of the film is called Niagara, Niagara, and therefore that the characters were from somewhere around the Niagara region. If this is the case…Toronto is only a 2 hour drive from the Niagara Falls border crossing. New York City and Boston are much further away.
I liked the movie. I think they went out of the country because she split from her family and felt she couldn’t go to the doctor to get her prescription refilled.
I think she actually died. And I thought the Barbie head was because she couldn’t find one locally. They were in upstate NY if I recall, which would explain why they went to Canada.
It’s an hour-and-a-half from here to T.O. NYC is about 8 hours away, Boston even further.
But Buffalo is only half-an-hour away. I’m sure you could get a “Black Barbie head” doll there. For that matter, you could probably get one in a shop here in Niagara Falls. NF has a significant African-American population, you know.
Haven’t seen the movie, but it doesn’t sound much like it’s really based on reality anyway.
unless the person has some knowledge of obsessive/compulsive disorders or Tourette’s syndrome. I love Patti Griffin’s song from the soundtrack,“You are Not Alone:”
"She sees him laying in the bed alone tonight
The only thing a touching him is a crack of light
Pieces of her hair are wrapped around and 'round his fingers
And he reaches for her side, for any sign of her that lingers
And she says you are not alone
Laying in the light
Put out the fire in your head
And lay with me tonight
One of them bullets went straight for the jugular vein
There were people running , a flash of light
Then everything changed
Nothing really matters in the end you know
All the worrys sever
Don’t be afraid for me my friend, one day we all fall down forever"
Well considering that all they did was have to have her doctor CALL the pharmacy. Even the pharmacist in the movie said “Have your doctor call”
They were already in a city. And it seemed that it would be Syracuse or Albany. As they equated Montreal as just as far as Toronto. Remember the line “Let’s not go to Montreal I can’t speak French.”
It also took them more than a day and they were still in New York. So they couldn’t have lived by the border.
