Nightmare Before Christmas 3D. ???

The official site seems to indicate it’s not playing in the Denver area at all! As a test, I entered Chicago, IL but that was a no-go as well. Is the site just messed up? They’ve been advertising on Denver channels, so I assume it’s being shown here somewhere. Does anyone know where?

I couldn’t find the 3-D Nightmare Before Christmas at a theater in my area either, even though I watched Monster House here in 3-D last year. Sounds like the database software is messed up.

Is this a yearly thing? I saw it in 3-D at the Paramount last year, but I thought it was “new” then. It was pretty awesome. I just found the glasses again in a bag in the closet - they are part of the Hallowe’en costume bag now!

It’s not opening until Oct 20th

This is the second year. Disney is planning to make this an annual event, just as Warner Bros. runs The Polar Express in IMAX every Christmas.

The closest theater for me would be about a 45 minute drive. I love 3D but I think I will miss it.

For the curious, here’s the official Web site, with the (malfunctioning?) theater search engine at the top of the page.

It’s opening on Oct. 19, according to that page.

This looks like something I’d be interested in, but I have one question. Do the 3-D glasses they give you work if you wear regular prescription glasses as well?

Yes, the 3D glasses should fit over the top of your prescription glasses.

I saw this last year, and in all honesty, I didn’t think the 3D effect was done all that well. I like the movie. Basically they converted a 2D movie into 3D. Some of the problems are when the background is out of focus, it really throws you off. Usually 3D is shot so that the depth of field keeps everything in focus, and it’s your eyes that decide what to focus on. It could just be me being fussy though.

Agreed on the focus. There are movies filmed to be in 3D, and they end up looking pretty good. Then there are 2D movies converted to 3D, and they’re usually a little lackluster in comparison. I thought that the problem with the focusing (I kept getting a halo around a lot of the 3D figures) was because I put the 3D glasses over my regular glasses, and it was throwing the angles into my eye just enough to make it slightly off. Glad to see I wasn’t the only one.
