Nighttime munchies

In the summer, I crave lemon italian ice before bed. In winter, 5 no-salt soda crackers do the trick for 65 calories. Doughy, crunchy, yummy.

That’s what I do. I’m limiting what kinds of food I can have, but I eat when I am hungry (probably five times a day, maybe two full platefuls of food (“meals”) plus a few small plates/snacks). Since I am hungry when I get home around 6, I eat right away, knowing that even though it’s a reasonable plateful and I won’t get really full, I will have a snack later in the evening. I go with

sugarfree/fatfree pudding, sometimes with coconut or nuts mixed in
handful of nuts
Fiber One bar
bowl of cereal (not sugared–puffed grains or shredded wheat), with lowfat milk and maybe sliced banana
as mentioned, oatmeal or cream of wheat in the winter

It keeps me from getting superhungry and obsessed with food, and keeps sugar leveler, but doesn’t make me stuffed for when I go to bed.
